Antifreeze and Engine Coolant/Radiators/Honda Civic DX/Honda Civic LX
Hey KenThe radiator cap isn't sealing. Replace it.GoodluckJoe
If replacing the radiator cap is not enough then look at yourradiator as the problem. Your radiator when the car is runningshould be the same temperature top to bottom. Run your hand downthe radiator (careful you can burn yourself) and see if it is cooltoward the bottom. If it is cool at the bottom but hot at the topyour radiator is clogged. Flush does not work so save your money. Iwould start looking online for a new radiator their cheap enough.Good luck.

If it still vents with a new cap then the excessive pressurecould be due to a blown head gasket pushing combustion pressureinto the coolant system, if the vehicle has been overheatedrecently it is a good possibility
I had the same problem. Check your upper and lower radiatorhoses. You might also need to replace your thermostat. Thethermostat is a spring seal for coolant. These get stuck open andclosed often for civics in the 1990's. I had to replace mine 2times within a month. Part of it was my fault, because i drove itlike i stole it. When your engine gets hot, the thermostat opens upand lets coolant in. When it is too cold, it closes and doesn't letcoolant into your engine so it will warm up. Your thermostatprobably got stuck closed. Also, check the little hose running fromthe reservoir tank to the radiator, it might be clogged.

Why does Overflow Reservoir on 1999 Ford Taurus keep overflowing gauge doesn't read hot changed the hoses flushed Radiator replaced Thermostat and reservoir?
It sounds like you have a blown head gasket. Combustion gases can enter the cooling system through either a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head. The gases (under pressure) force coolant out of the reservoir. This also causes a void in the upper part of the cooling system , leaving no coolant at the thermostat and the coolant temperature sending unit. The result is a erroneous temperature Reading and will even prevent the thermostat… Read More

Is it ok to drive car with cracked radiator?
A cracked radiator would leak the fluid out, leaving no coolant for your engine which would cause your engine to overheat and be destroyed pretty quickly. So the answer is NO. Read More
How do you fix your car that has air locked radiator?
Allow the car to cool. Remove radiator cap. Add water or coolant to fill radiator. Start engine leaving cap off. check to see if coolant is circulating in radiator. Why does the coolant boils and overflows to the radiator reservoir leaving the radiator low in coolant thus will overheat replaced 2 radiator caps thermostat reservoir tank and hoses 93 Camry V6 LE?
TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FOUND THAT THE COOLANT OUTLET CAP WAS NOT PROPERLY SEALING DUE TO CORROSION ON THE SEAT LIP OF THE OUTLET. THIS WAS CAUSING A WEEPING OF COOLANT TO THE RESERVOIR AND A LOSS OF PRESSURE REQUIRED TO PREVENT BOIL OVER. MY CHEAP SOLUTION WAS TO CAP THE COOLANT LINE TO THE RESERVOIR. PROBLEM SOLVED. If you replaced two caps then I doubt those… Read More
What causes smoke to pour and water to hiss from the coolant after leaving engine running?

What is the expansion tank in your car?
The expansion tank retains coolant in a reservoir that's been forced out of the car's radiatior under pressure. As you run your car, the temprerature of the coolant circulating through the water jackets naturally increases causing increasing pressure in the cooling system. When the pressure builds to a high enough point, the radiatior cap allows that pressure to escape into the coolant reservoir through a small black rubber tube, called an overflow tube connected by… Read More

How do the pumps thermostats radiator and coolant in a car cooling system maintain the motor at a relatively constant operating temperature?
The thermostat is key to maintaining relatively constant temperatures. It is basically a temp. sensitive spring operating a plug. It can be open or closed or partially open, depending on the engine temperature. When the car is cold, the thermostat almost completely prevents coolant from entering or leaving the engine. As the engine warms up to operating temperature and higher, the thermostat opens and allows coolant to circulate from the engine to the radiator. If… Read More

What are the signs of intake gasket leak?
The obvious would be coolant leaking out and leaving puddles on the ground. The less obvious would be coolant leaking into the engine and mixing with the engine oil. You may see evidence of coolant under the oil fill cap or on the dipstick itself when you pull out the dipstick. This is something you don't want to happen. This can cause serious damage to internal engine parts. So, if the coolant level in the… Read More
What damage is caused from leaving a radiator cap off?
Why after checking for correct liquid levels does coolant leak from 1966 Corvette pressurized coolant reservoir overflow line after engine is shut down for 5 minutes or so?
When you mentioned you had checked for correct coolant levels what do you mean or think is correct? If you are filling the coolant level to the top of the radiator neck when the engine is cold (then you are overfiling the radiator - keep in mind your vehicle does not have a coolant recovery tank), once the engine heats up the coolant will expand and if the radiator was filled to the top of… Read More

Meaning of Coolant in nuclear power plant?
The meaning of coolant in a nuclear power plant is the same as the coolant in your car's gasoline or diesel engine: a fluid that flows through the system to remove heat. After that the heat is disposed of differently: in your car the coolant just passes through the car's radiator where the heat is disposed of as waste; in the nuclear power plant the coolant passes through a heat exchanger/steam generator to boil water… Read More
Does the water pump keep your car from over heating?
Yes and keeps it working. Heat created by the burning of fuel in the combustion chambers needs to be removed quickly to prevent the engine form seizing. This is done in water cooled vehicles (Air is used in some older design cars) by a reservoir of liquid coolant (It used to be water) which is pumped through chambers in the cylinder head and engine block. The coolant is then passed through a radiator which exposes… Read More

First: Is there enough coolant/antifreeze in the radiator? Don't just look inside the plastic overflow bottle, but remove the radiator cap (when the engine is cold) and look inside the radiator. You should be able to physically see the fluid level if it is at its proper level. Most cars and trucks will hold 1 1/2-2 gallons of coolant and water mixture. If you have to add more than a pint of fluid you should… Read More
318i 1998 - after leaving the car wash the temperature shot up quickly red light came on No hot air in heater no leaks under hood both radiator hoses warm to touch?
No hot air from heater suggests to me the coolant level is low or the water pump stopped pumping. Possibly the belt that drives the water pump is loose and when it got wet it slipped (or slipped off the pulleys) and failed to turn the water pump which stopped the coolant circulation causing the engine to heat up and also stopped the coolant from being pumped through the heater core. Check to see if… Read More
Why renew engine coolant?
It is very important to renew engine coolant on a regular basis as recommended by most automotive service providers. Coolant plays an important role in an engine. It both transfers heat away from very hot components and blocks corrosion from happening where the coolant touches metal. As coolant gets older, its heat transferring properties are weakened, as well as the anti-corrosive components within it. Leaving it in there too long will result in corrosion forming… Read More

Clean the engine and check it again while its hot and running. Maybe the thermostat gasket? I fixed one of these yesterday. Rubber gasket had swollen and torn. Coolant tends to evaporate where it leaks, so you'll only have a puddle if the leak is big. Small leaks tend to stop when the motor is not running, since the water pump increases the pressure in the block significantly. Read More

Toner is a black powder used in laser printers and copiers to produce text and images. These cartridges will eventually need to be emptied of waste toner before being refilled. Your computer will send out a prompt when the cartridges need to be emptied and refilled. You can empty the cartridge yourself with the proper safety precautions.
Remove the cartridge from the printer. Open the access door and lift the plastic clip that holds the cartridge down inside the printer. Lift the cartridge straight up out of its seat on the bar.
Unclip the plate on the side of the cartridge. Pull out the plastic pegs that hold the toner container to the cartridge case and separate the case and container.
Unscrew the two screws holding the plate onto the toner container. Hold the cartridge with two hands inside the plastic bag. Turn the cartridge over and carefully empty the waste toner into the bag. Try not to shake the cartridge around to avoid making a cloud of toner.
Refill the cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions and reassemble it inside the case. Put the cartridge back into the printer and snap it into place.
